ISO 20022 Message Standard

This category includes messages from clients to the bank to order payments. UBS supports the following types of notification:

Customer Credit Transfer Initiation: pain.001 for payment orders

• Structured fields and a uniform standard make it possible to automate processes, reduce errors and thus support faster processing and end-to-end processing.
  
• Additional payment instructions and information can be supplied with certain (or better, designated) fields.
  
• An “end-to-end” reference means that the payment status can be checked at any time, from issuing of the invoice right through to receipt of the credit.
  
• To repay a credit, the “account servicer reference” can be used to determine the required information about the original ordering party and the repayment processed on an automated basis. You can find further information in our Re-Payments factsheet.

Customer Payment Status Report: pain.002 for status and error reports

• The status message enables timely information on the status of submitted orders as well as details on errors or corrections.
  
• “pain.002” is delivered as standard with every payment order that is submitted and ideally should be able to be processed automatically by your ERP system.
  

Customer Direct Debit Initiation: pain.008 for direct debits

• A uniform standard permits simpler transmission of direct debits.
  

This category comprises messages from banks to clients, for example statements and notices. There are numerous formats of camt messages; however, not all of them are used and supported in Switzerland.

The following reports are supported by UBS:

• Customer Account Report: camt.052 for intraday account transactions
• Customer Statement: camt.053 for booked account statements
• Customer Debit/Credit Notification: camt.054 for booked payments
