The more you know

Our UK School Leaver Apprenticeships are an important entry level pipeline for UBS. The programs provide apprentices with skills and experiences required to transition from school to the workplace, while working towards recognised qualifications. As an apprentice you will be a full-time employee and your role will be a mixture of on-the-desk duties and learning and development.

If you want a great introduction into the world of work with one of the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers, this is the program for you.

How we hire

We hire apprentices once a year, these programs begin in September. Please be aware you can only apply to one business area program per year, so do your research and choose the right path for you.

Online application

Submit an online application and upload your CV/resume.

  • As we don’t require a cover letter, it’s really important your CV reflects who you are.
  • We’re keen to hear about your hobbies/interests, academic achievements, work experience and what you’ve learnt from these experiences.

Online assessments

Every candidate will take three online assessments. They are dependent on the business area you are applying for.

  • For our Culture test, be sure to look at our three keys. Think about our culture, pillars and principles.
  • Check out AON’s website for practice online assessments – work on your speed and accuracy.
  • Tests are timed – find a quiet place to focus, away from distractions.

Video interview

If your application is successful, you'll receive a link to record your video interview.

  • Treat the video interview like an in-person interview – dress smartly, maintain good eye contact and be concise.
  • Early bird or night owl? Start your video interview at a time that best suits you. Don’t worry, you’re also given a set amount of time to prepare your response before you answer.

Check out our tips for video interview success in the video and on UBS Backstage:

Final assessment day

The final stage of the selection process is a series of virtual or face-to-face interviews.

  • Research UBS and the business area you’re applying to, don’t just read facts and figures.
  • Ask questions at the end of your interview. Don’t rely on assessors to ask follow up questions.
  • When giving examples be sure to talk about the outcome and acknowledge if there’s anything you would’ve done differently.
