UBS Mid-Year Outlook 2024

The New Momentum
Hong Kong, June 26, 2024

Event Highlights

UBS is excited to host the upcoming UBS Mid-Year Outlook 2024 in Hong Kong, on Wednesday, June 26.

After climbing to unprecedented peaks in 1Q24, major stock markets are now facing a range of challenges - from persistently high US interest rates to geopolitics. We are optimistic that dynamics in the latter half of the year can unlock new momentum for portfolios, if several critical factors converge. First and foremost is the trajectory of the US economy and inflation, which has kept Fed rate cuts at bay. Additionally, while the tech sector remains a source of enthusiasm, artificial intelligence must meet lofty growth expectations. Against this backdrop, geopolitical risks are building with the US presidential election approaching and regional conflicts and trade frictions looming over vital supply chains.
