The UBS Art Collection commissioned Mit Jai Inn (b. 1960, Thailand, lives and works in Chiang Mai), to conceive and create interactive artworks that shape and construct spatial dynamics for the UBS Art Studio and the UBS Lounge at ART SG 2025, inviting viewers to engage actively with their surroundings.

Mit challenges conventional boundaries of painting through a meticulous and rigorous process of mixing, applying, overlaying and eroding pigments. His paintings come into being at his outdoor Chiang Mai studio under the golden sun and white fluorescent moonlight. The vibrant, densely layered works exhibit a wide range of topographies and moods, ranging from somber amorphous blotches to pastel crafted stripes to neon dots, and more.

Emerging in Berlin and Vienna in the late 1980s, Mit developed a vocabulary of forms that challenges traditional painting and its market frameworks. His works respond to aesthetic, social, and political histories, addressing the divide between Western and Eastern canonical painting, the sacred and secular use of color and the sociopolitical context of Thailand.
