Taipei, 6 January 2017 – UBS today announced the appointment of Hsin Chiao as Head of Asset Management Taiwan with immediate effect. Chiao succeeds Jerry Lee, who is retiring after close to five years at UBS.

"With her drive, and extensive network in Taiwan, Hsin is ideally placed to build on the foundations laid for the asset management business by Jerry over the last five years," noted Rene Buehlmann, Group Managing Director, Head of UBS Asset Management Asia Pacific and Global Head, Wholesale Client Coverage.

Chiao joined UBS in 2014 and, most recently, was responsible for the Distribution teams in Taiwan. She has played a key role in developing both the firm's distribution network and the offshore private fund and discretionary businesses. She also led the launch of the UBS onshore Biotech Fund in April last year.

Previously, Chiao worked for Leonteq Securities in Hong Kong where she was responsible for the Taiwan business. Before that, she was Head of Taiwan of the derivative sales teams at EFG Financial Products in Hong Kong and RBS Global Markets in Taiwan.

"UBS Asset Management has a strong reputation as a truly global fund house and a strong brand. I am confident that the high quality of our products and the commercial advantages available through collaboration with other UBS business units in Taiwan and elsewhere in the region will be well received by our clients," said Chiao.
