Beijing, October 8, 2024 – UBS proudly sponsors the 27th Beijing Music Festival ("BMF") and presents a diversified series of concerts and community programs, featuring globally celebrated artists and performing groups. These initiatives underscore UBS’s enduring commitment to fostering global musical connections, local community engagement and cultural development.

Janice Hu, UBS China Country Head, said: "UBS has been supporting the communities where we operate for many decades. This year marks the 19th anniversary of the partnership between UBS and BMF. We are honored to be able to continue our support in this international event for musical connections and cultural exchanges, while demonstrating our long-term commitment to public culture and education through various community programs."

During BMF, UBS will present the We Got Rhythm concert on October 9, 2024, by nine-time Grammy Award winner, world-renowned trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Wynton Marsalis, accompanied by the acclaimed Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. On October 10, 2024, at the historical venue of the Temple of Heaven Divine Music Administration, UBS is thrilled to sponsor and present Voices from Afar by the world-renowned Cape Town Opera Chorus.

"To perform at this year’s Beijing Music Festival is such a privilege and honor. I believe that music transcends borders, uniting us in a shared rhythm. Like the trumpet’s call, every note tells a story of our collective journey. In this festival of sound, I am excited to share with audiences not just my music, but a celebration of the harmony between cultures through the power of connection," said Wynton Marsalis.

"We are thrilled to be participating in the 27th Beijing Music Festival and to share our choral music with Chinese audiences. In this vibrant exchange, our voices resonate with the spirit of our rich heritages. Supported by UBS, we invite everyone to join us in a celebration of artistry, inspiring hope, positivity and a deep appreciation for music through our diverse repertoire," noted Cape Town Opera Chorus.

To further community engagement in music and culture, UBS will also host a series of programs for our staff and the local community. During BMF, Huang Ye, the Music Director of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai Big Band, will share his music journey and source of inspirations with UBS staff. In collaboration with Wings of Music, migrant children from Dandelion School in Beijing will have an exclusive opportunity for a meet-and-greet session with BMF artists and a backstage tour to witness the setup and preparations of the Cape Town Opera Chorus before their evening performance. Additionally, the children will delve into the rich history of the Temple of Heaven, one of Beijing's most iconic landmarks.
