Cerith Wyn Evans is a conceptual artist whose practice incorporates installation, film, sculpture, photography, and text. Evans’s works are often created for a specific space and have direct a relationship to the immediate surroundings. ‘More Light Research’ (2019) continues Evans’s attempts to represent movement in a physical form by creating a map of abstract notations and gestures as a direct response to the surrounding space.
‘More Light Research’ (2019) is a unique, site-specific installation commissioned by the UBS Art Collection for UBS headquarters at 5 Broadgate in London. Suspended from the ceiling is a complicated maze of white neon, overlapping and intertwining as if drawn from one single line. Seemingly dancing in midair, the elegantly choreographed forms suggest a flow of energy pulsating with its own life force. More Light Research is a constantly shifting experience that defies any single interpretation.
