By 2023, with USD 3.9 million in donations, 180 child protection committees and 150 children’s groups were formed, and the initiative expanded to Eastern and Southern Africa.

A USD 100 million blended finance initiative backed by major institutional and private investors, aimed at delivering projects focused on the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa, Asia, and beyond.

Mobilized USD 58.4 million to support Ukraine relief efforts, helping our 24 partners provide essential services in a time of crisis.

Brought together 45 clients and partners to drive nature-based climate solutions, focusing on the conservation and restoration of mangroves and the development of instruments informing blue carbon markets.

Emphasizing the environment as a key driver to achieving SDGs, we increased our focus on nature-based solutions to address climate change.

This marked the first time UBS Optimus took a board seat, enhancing our role in shaping education solutions.

Introduced our first blended finance instrument linking financial returns to social outcomes, focusing on education, health, and employment in the post-COVID recovery.

Through a global effort, we raised USD 34 million to support 48 partners working across 35 countries to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A major fundraising milestone, reflecting our continued growth and ability to mobilize funds for impactful social programs.

Launched at the Skoll World Forum, this social investment product marked a new era for UBS Optimus, with interest rates that fluctuate based on the impact achieved.

In partnership with USAID and Merck for Mothers, this bond is on track to save up to 2,000 lives by improving healthcare quality standards in small hospitals, with an expected 8% IRR.

Exceeding targets for two consecutive years in India, this impact bond enabled children to learn twice as fast as in other schools, aiming to improve education for 200,000 children and delivering an 8% IRR.

Supported by UBS Optimus Foundation, the program, based on Last Mile Health’s model, provided healthcare to 1.2 million people in Liberia. Co-funded by the Global Fund and Co-Impact, this initiative is an example of our commitment to scalable health solutions.

Joined the UK government’s initiative to eliminate orphanages and shift to family-based care, aligning with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child to end orphanage care within our lifetime.

Partnered with TED's Audacious Project to fund groundbreaking ideas with the potential to create large-scale social change. This includes partnerships with Last Mile Health and Living Goods to expand their reach.

Co-founding with the Jacobs Foundation, a CHF 50 million public-private partnership with government and industry leaders to improve the quality of life for children and youth in Ivory Coast, focusing on delivering quality education in cocoa-growing communities.

Pioneered a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership in education, designed to enhance the government’s ability to deliver quality education through a marketplace of government-regulated school operators and push reform across the wider sector.

Offering clients firsthand insights into our philanthropic work and the transformative projects we support on the ground.

Launched the world’s first development impact bond, focusing on girls’ education in Rajasthan, India. The bond exceeded expectations with a 15% IRR, paving the way for our future social finance work.

Collaborating with the government of Canada and the Gates Foundation to save lives at birth and promote early childhood development, laying the foundation for future innovations in health and education.

Co-founding an innovative financing platform alongside the UK government and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. This partnership committed USD 150 million to address global malnutrition, marking our first major partnership with the UK government, the World Bank, and UNICEF.

As the anchor funder, we supported the training of community health workers to serve Liberia’s most remote populations, increasing child treatment rates by over 40%.
