As we are on the move, it is important for all staff to have a big hand in co-creating our next generation new home together at 9 Penang Road.

The move is more than a change of address. It's an opportunity to change the way we work for the better - which means creating a more flexible, open, efficient and collaborative environment that doesn't just work for UBS, but works for you too.

We opened our workspace survey to all staff from April till 10 May, to hear your suggestions on how we can create a positive and conducive workspace environment.

About 1,700 of you responded and helped us understand what matters most to you for your work and social spaces, for higher productivity and collaboration.

Here are some of our top level findings, and we will be sharing more in due course.

Top 5 areas you would like to see in your future workplace

  1. Bigger, better workspaces
  2. Better café and pantry facilities
  3. Ergonomic workstations (standing desks)
  4. Access to gym / wellness facilities
  5. Better meeting rooms and more alternative meeting spaces

Top 5 facilities that are of high importance to you

Most popular key words of what you would like to see or change in UBS's future workplace

  • Flexible workplace / work arrangements
  • More choices of meeting rooms / more quiet rooms for confidential calls
  • More collaboration space, e.g. in-house cafeteria
  • Standing tables (i.e. height adjustable tables)
  • Bigger coffee points/pantries with more food/drink choices
  • Enhanced technology, such as better AV/smartboard connectivity in meeting rooms
