The North West team – in the heart of Manchester

Regional head: Howard Kemp

Howard Kemp is Desk Head for UBS Global Wealth Management’s office in Manchester. He leads the Relationship Team focused on building long-term meaningful relationships with clients in the North-West.

He joined UBS in 2007 and has over 30years experience working in Wealth Management helping clients to meet their objectives with particular focus on Financial Planning and Investment solutions. He has a degree in Engineering and holds a postgraduate diploma in Actuarial Science as well as being a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) having completed Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management. Outside of work Howard enjoys golf and skiing taking an interest in most sports as well as spending time with his family.


Client Advisors

Responsible for looking after your wealth management needs, client advisors help you with your wealth strategy, advise on investment products and assist you in pension planning. They’re also your gateway to further UBS expertise, should you need specialist advice from our mortgage solutions team or help with selling your business, for instance.

Jane Booth - Head of the Manchester office

Jane Booth - Head of the Manchester office

Jane has been a Client Advisor in the Global Wealth Management division for seven years and is the North West Head. Jane specialises in crafting bespoke investment plans for each client, managing lifetime wealth, and multi-generational planning. She finds particular joy in building strong, enduring relationships with some of the North of England’s most successful entrepreneurs and their families.

Jane is passionate about improving financial confidence, especially with female clients and the next generation. She also interested in entrepreneurship, investing sustainably, impactful charitable giving and succession planning.

Hailing from Bolton, her educational journey began with a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of Exeter before attaining a law degree and professional qualifications at the College of Law in Manchester. In Jane’s early career she practiced as a solicitor providing expert advice on family law matters for wealthy families at two national law firms. Her fascination with investments and financial planning during her legal tenure paved the way to her career in wealth management.

In her spare time Jane is a dedicated yoga instructor with experience in teaching sailing and skiing too. Living in Manchester, she enjoys staying active through activities including running and cycling.

Ellie Edwards

Ellie Edwards

Ellie Edwards has been a dedicated Client Adviser at UBS Global Wealth Management for five years, but she has spent over a decade within the UBS family. Ellie previously held positions involving asset transfers and project management, and she was involved in the UBS SmartWealth project, one of the first Robo-Advisers to market.

Ellie’s investment background, technical knowledge and strong relationship management skills provided her with the foundation and confidence to enter a career in wealth management. At the age of 17, Ellie started working at Investec Asset Management and later pursued a series of professional qualifications including the Investment Management Certificate, Investment Advice Diploma, and Private Client Investment Advice & Management.

Ellie’s career has taken her around the globe with roles at BNY Mellon in both London and Melbourne, Australia. Originally from London, Ellie has been established in Manchester for the past six years. Ellie’s remarkable journey and commitment to client services makes her an invaluable asset to UBS and a reliable partner for individuals seeking expert guidance in wealth management.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ellie maintains a love for wellbeing and exploration. Regular boxing and gym sessions are her staples, and she aspires to explore new horizons and tick off destinations on her bucket list.

Financial Planner

Financial planners work as specialists alongside your client advisor, providing bespoke financial planning advice. A team of planners and administrators support our financial planners, efficiently executing this advice, providing you with excellent client service, and offering access to other UBS resources. These resources can range from investment management to estate planning and corporate finance advice, in addition to specific wealth management products and services.

Andy Carroll

Andy Carroll

Andy joined UBS in 2023 and has over 10 years of financial planning experience.  Andy is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, and he is experienced in providing financial planning services to High net-worth individuals and business owners.  When not at work Andy enjoys attending Sporting events and spending time with Family and Friends.

Client Account Managers are an integral part of the team, providing you with most of your day-to-day administrative support including payments, transfers and trades.

James Bradshaw, Apprentice, Yorkshire, UBS

James Bradshaw

James has spent five years in the Client Account Manager role. James studied Applied Finance with University of Exeter as part of the UBS degree apprenticeship programme

Prior to joining the Manchester team, James was based in the UBS Leeds office. James also completed a year of work experience at an IFA whilst doing his A-Levels. Business Studies was James’s favourite subject at school and he enjoys working with entrepreneurial clients. James also won a national investing competition whilst at school and won a trip to New York including a tour of the New York Stock Exchange, which drew him to a career in finance. James has an interest in behavioural finance following his CFA Level I studies and in private markets. Outside of work, James enjoys unning, cooking, music, football, science and technology documentaries

Anum Zia

Anum Zia

Anum has spent four years in this role, based in the Manchester office while studying towards gaining the Level 4 – Investment Management Certificate. Originally from Oldham, Greater Manchester, Anum is interested in various areas of wealth management which includes philanthropy, sustainable & alternative investments as well as the ever evolving digital banking platforms.  Anum was first attracted to a career in wealth management as it would enable her to network within a variety of banking sectors, and hone her skills within the banking industry as well as build relationships with clients & colleagues. In her free time, she enjoys baking, going on long walks and spending quality time with her family & friends.

Sara Hussain

Sara has spent three years in the role based in the Manchester office while studying Applied Finance at the University of Exeter. Hailing from Blackburn, Lancashire, Sara is interested in many areas of wealth management including sustainable investing, client relationships and alternative investments. As a people’s person, Sara was first attracted to a career in wealth management as it would enable her to build relationships with others and make meaningful connections with clients and colleagues. She enjoys the individuality of wealth management and using her financial knowledge to build plans that centre on someone’s unique situation and goals.
