      What you’ll need:

      • A gimlet (or awl, cordless drill)
      • Wooden beads
      • Thread
      • A thick sewing needle

      From the forest:

      • Horse chestnuts

      How to do it

      1. Carefully make a hole in each of the chestnuts with the gimlet. Ask an adult to help you.

      2. Use a wooden bead as a stopper.

      3. Alternately thread one chestnut and one bead onto the necklace. Use a threaded sewing needle to do so. Continue until the necklace or garland is as long as you want it to be.

      4. Tie the ends of the thread together.

      5. Wear your chestnut necklace or hang it up as a decoration.

Tip: instead of a necklace you can use your creation as a garland on your bicycle or above your front door.
