Cosmos construction project: 162 new affordable apartments in Dübendorf

Integration into the Zurich metropolitan area is one of the key objectives of the project by the CS REF Green Property real estate fund.

"Our Cosmos construction project marks another milestone for the real estate fund. This exciting project meets the requirements of the 'SNBS Gold' Swiss Sustainable Building Standard and creates a new, lively center on the outskirts of Zurich," says Urs Frey, fund manager of CS REF Green Property.

The project has created an open space that provides the district not only with high-quality, affordable apartments, but also with impetus for further growth. It was important that the Cosmos project in Dübendorf bring the ground floor to life with various public usage options. Shared areas, local shops, cafés and larger stores help to ensure that people who do not live in the neighborhood use these facilities and keep the area busy.

The 162 apartments were rented out in next to no time last spring and tenants were able to move in during November and December 2023. The workONE concept – a straightforward office and commercial concept with a flat rate for rent and a flexible lease – will be ready for use from June 2024. The concept will occupy 6,274 m2 of the two-story premises at Zürichstrasse 98.

The Hochbord district, a residential and commercial area on the outskirts of Zurich, is consequently becoming a diverse and multifaceted neighborhood. The new complex is the new face of the district and offers direct access to nature with the city park, alongside the apartments and office and commercial space.

With her art installation titled "Birds and Trees," artist Claudia Comte explores the fragility of the small ecosystem of birds and tree species that live among us but that we rarely see. The installation in the form of larger-than-life marble sculptures is spread out across the surrounding area.
