Dean Turner
European Economist
Dean has over twenty years of experience in the investment industry. In his role as an economist, he is responsible for formulating the macroeconomic views for Europe and the UK and translating this into investment strategies across the fixed income and currency markets. He joined UBS in 2014 and prior to this held positions as an economist / strategist at HSBC and Barclays. Dean holds a Masters in Economics from the University of London, and is a CFA® and CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) charter holder.
Preston Keat
Head of Political and Country Risk
Preston Keat is a managing director and head of political and country risk at UBS. His team focusses on economic, geopolitical and policy analysis, country ratings and exposure limits, stress-scenario development, and climate change forecasting. He also leads the firm’s internal "Economist Forum" and “Risk Think Tank.” Prior to joining UBS, Preston worked for ten years at the political risk consultancy, Eurasia Group, where he was research director, head of the Europe practice, and a member of the management committee. He is co-author of The Fat Tail: The Power of Political Knowledge for Strategic Investing (Oxford, 2009).
