UBS Arena strives to give the state of New York something it’s never had before: an arena built with the goal to receive the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDv4) certification.

To make this happen, sustainability had to be the starting point for every design decision. The end result looks like this:
- Driving towards 100% carbon neutrality by 2024
- Low-flow plumbing that uses 40% less water than similar sized buildings
- 100% LED lighting with motion sensors
UBS Arena will also help all its guests to cut down their environmental impact:
- All paper products are 100% compostable
- Plans to install 1,000 charging stations for electric vehicles
- Designated pick-up and drop-off areas for ride-share
- Two LIRR stations and MTA bus stop
- Fully electric on-site shuttles to move guests from parking and trains to the arena
Our concessionaire, Delaware North, will donate all left over food to local food banks
