Digital bonds
On October 3 SIX Digital Exchange (SDX) has announced that SIX SIS has become a member on its central securities depository platform (SDX CSD). This allows members of SIX SIS to hold natively digital CHF-denominated bonds on behalf of their clients, broadening access to such securities beyond SDX CSD members. We refer to the respective SDX press release dated October 3, 2022 for further details.
UBS, alongside other SDX member banks, has been working closely with SDX on the launch of the digital exchange (including the link to SIX SIS) to facilitate digital bond issuance for the CHF market in a fully regulated environment. UBS intends to leverage this infrastructure subject to investor readiness when considering future digital bond issuance for itself.
