The QR-bill for a digital future
Since 30 June 2020, the QR-bill has been making it easier for you to pay and issue invoices. On 30 September 2022, the QR-bill replaced red and orange payment slips throughout Switzerland.
Generate, print and send QR-bills online via the UBS QR-Portal.
Create and pay QR-bills online or offline.
You no longer need to type in payment information manually – the QR-code contains all the relevant information.
How do I pay QR-bills?
QR-bills can be paid via UBS E-Banking, UBS Mobile Banking, UBS Multimat or an order form (UBS easy, UBS easy international, a one-time order or standing order) as well as in UBS branches.
If you would like to pay QR-bills with our UBS easy forms, simply separate the payment part from the QR-bill and submit the UBS easy form for payments in CHF and the UBS easy international form for amounts in EUR. Please note that all the information printed on the payment part or permitted handwritten additions to this part must always be provided along with the payment when making QR payments, regardless of whether this information is needed to execute the payment. Handwritten additions (but not deletions) are only permitted if the amount and/or the bill recipient in the “Payable by” field is missing.
If you use accounting software to send electronic payment orders to UBS, you must ensure that your system is ready for QR-bills. Take advantage of the possibility to check the status of your software on our website ubs.com/qr-software. Your software must support and validate QR-bills with your additional information and options for payment and be able to generate the electronic payment order in compliance with the SIX requirements. Payment templates must as a rule be newly created for QR-bills with the new information for your creditor.
The electronic payment order in pain.001 format must be supplemented for the QR-bill. Check with your software manufacturer as to whether an update of your software is needed for QR-bills.
The three types of QR-bill
The difference between them lies in the use of IBAN and the references.
