What are the conditions for opening UBS key4 smart investing for children and young people up to the age of 18?

How can I open UBS key4 smart investing for a child?

UBS key4 smart investing is opened directly in the name of the child and the child’s banking relationship. If a banking relationship already exists (for example, because of a savings account for young people), you can select it or open a new banking relationship directly during the opening process.

Please note that opening a new banking relationship is currently only possible via the UBS Mobile Banking App.

What happens when the child reaches the age of majority?

The saved assets are transferred to the child as soon as they reach the age of majority. We’re happy to invite the child to meet with us in one of our branches to complete the necessary formalities for the transfer.
Once the child reaches the age of majority, you lose the right to dispose of the assets and will no longer have access to them, as they will have been transferred to the child. You’ll be informed of this with sufficient advance notice.

Will the child be informed that UBS key4 smart investing has been opened for them?

That depends on the mailing instructions.

When you open a new banking relationship for a child as part of the opening process, the mailing instructions are set so that any mail is sent only to you.
If you open UBS key4 smart investing for an existing banking relationship of a child, any existing mailing instructions will be taken into account.
