You can carry out the simulation with different investment strategies. The higher the letter (from A to F), the larger the equity component of the strategy. The larger the equity component, the higher the potential returns, but also the higher the volatility, i.e., the potential fluctuations in value (including possible losses).

The values that describe the investment strategies A to F in the Asset Calculator are only indicative and refer to a representative portfolio consisting of different product categories and not to individual investment products. These can also differ, depending on the chosen investment solution.

In addition, the figures displayed are gross values before fees and taxes (e.g., transaction fees, mandate fees, surcharges).

The maximum amount for pillar 3a is regularly adjusted and differs according to whether the person is affiliated with a pension fund or not.

The asset calculator allows a maximum holding period of 80 years for the simulation. For example, choose the holding period for your retirement capital in such a way that you deduct your current age from the ordinary reference age. Note that, by law, you cannot normally access your pillar 3a (UBS Fisca) assets until five years before you reach normal AHV retirement age. Under certain conditions, however, it is possible to withdraw pillar 3a assets early, for example, to finance owner-occupied residential property or to start a business.

Expected annual return

The expected annual return is derived using a statistical method, which is based on historical performance data and the market expectations of UBS CIO. It expresses the expected average return of a model investment strategy or product.

Expected annual volatility

Volatility is a measure of the fluctuation in value of a model investment strategy over a defined period. It is calculated using a suitable statistical method based on historical performance data and market expectations of UBS CIO.

Maximum historical drawdown

The maximum historical loss is the maximum loss of a model investment strategy or the highest relative decline within a defined period. It is the worst-case scenario based on historical data that could occur if investments were bought or sold at the worst possible time.

Longest period of a historical drawdown

The longest historical loss period of the model investment strategy is based on historical data. It reflects the maximum loss period and gives the minimum time required to weather losses and fluctuations in the portfolio.
