You decide what risk you want to insure against (death/incapacity to work/both) and choose the amount of the lump-sum payment. Life insurance: in the event of death, the insured capital is paid out immediately. Insurance against incapacity to work: in the event of incapacity to work, Zurich covers the premium payment for the insurance after a waiting period of 12 months.
