Our solution is hosted on a dedicated streaming server and ensures the player runs on a broad range of devices in the best quality. Various players are available.
The Brightcove Standard Video Player is a high-performance, cross-platform HTML5-first video player that loads quickly, delivers high-quality adaptive bitrate HLS video across desktop and mobile platforms, and integrates with your favorite advertising and analytics systems.
BC Default Player - it is a default instance of the Brightcove Player.
How to use Standard Player - In AEM integrate the video with the brightcove video ID into the video component and make sure that the player " Video Player(Standard - HTML5)" is selected.

The image has to be added in the component. The image added in the tab is displayed instead of the Brightcove image. For old component the Brightcove image works as fallback. The feature works for standard player and chapter player and is mandatory.
For best results, use JPG or PNG format with a minimum width of 640px for posters and 160px for thumbnails. Aspect ratios should match the video, generally 16:9 or 4:3.
If you want to play the video on a separate page, or if you don't want to embed it in a page, you can use a marketing URL to play the video on a dedicated page.
If a video cannot be stored in Brightcove, or the video is only available externally (e.g. Youtube), a link can be set to this video. However, please make sure that the link label indicates that it is an external link.
Chapters make it easier for viewers to go to a specific point in a video. This is especially helpful for longer form videos. Rather than scrubbing through the video, a chapter menu can be used to jump to a specific point in the video.

A playlist is a collection of videos that are grouped together in a particular order for playback in a player. The Media module makes it easy to create playlists and add videos to a playlist. After you've created your playlist, you can publish a playlist to a player.
Playlist can be displayed vertically or horizontally
The custom field Simulive Start will hold the date and time a video will be available. The video will not be viewable until the Simulive Start time has been reached. To configure a video as a simulive video, follow these steps:
Open the Media module in BC
Click on a video title to open the properties.
Locate the Custom fields section and click Edit.
Enter a date and time value for the Simulive Start field. The correct format of the field is YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS-HH:MM where YYYY-MM-DD is the year, month and date with leading zeroes as appropriate, HH:MM:SS is the 24-time hour, minute, and second with leading zeroes as appropriate, and -HH:MM is the timezone offset (for example, -04:00 for UTC-4, +08:30 for UTC+8.5, etc).
Note: Simulive relies on a given user's local computer time to determine when the event should start by comparing the local computer time and the configured Simulive Start time. For this reason, there may be cases where an event may start earlier than expected for some users. This is typically due to these users' computer times being inaccurate.
How it works
It is a combination of pre-recorded event and a live interaction. It means the video/ presentation can be recorded in advance of a broadcast date and getting an interaction with the audience live when the event should take place.
In short, it simulates a live event by playing a rerecorded event at a specified time.
No fast forward, no pause and no rewind is possible.

Integrating Cue point & end screen CTAs into video in the AEM page
Goto the page where you have video player component added, select “Video Player(Standard - HTML5)” from Video tab.
In CTA cue point tab, add start & end time for the CTA (the time you prefer for CTA to stay on the video) and experience fragment link to show your CTA on the video.
In Custom end screen tab, add end screen experiment fragment link (This is optional, mainly for showcasing any object/img or link at the end of the video).
An accessible video includes title, captions and a transcript. These elements are mandatory. An audio file includes a title and a transcript and both are delivered in our accessible media player.
Clicking the "CC" button shows the captions within the video.
Note
Use closed caption
At UBS closed captions are the preferred solution, they can be turned on and off. The closed captions are turned on by default.
Best practice
Make sure that captions are one or two lines.
Generally, it is best to keep them under 32 characters per line.
Put a new sentence on a new line.
Add in audio descriptions when people are not speaking in square brackets – e.g. [Music playing], [Alarm rings] or [No sound].
Open captions are always displayed and cannot be turned off. Due to the mandatory use of transcripts, the caption text would be displayed twice when using "open captions". Therefore, please do not use the open captions.
